This is going to be a short post โ mostly me holding myself accountable and trying to kick-start the habit of writing again in 2026.
The clock keeps ticking. We've blasted into a new year and, honestly, I feel it. Resolutions come and go almost as quickly as they're conceived, but something feels different this time around. I'm more energized than I've been in a while, and there are real, significant life changes on the horizon for me this year. I'm not going to pretend I have all the answers or that I know exactly how things will unfold โ I'm embracing the unknowns, which if you know me, is not always my default setting as an engineer who likes systems and predictability.
To channel that energy into something concrete, I've settled on a few goals that I genuinely care about. The throughline for all of them is the entrepreneurial path I've been building toward. I want to focus on creating services and tools that generate passive income โ the kind of compounding leverage that a salaried engineering role never really gives you. A concrete target I'm putting in writing: at least $12,000 in annualized revenue this year, whether that comes through subscriptions, dogfooding my own products, or some combination of both. Having spent time in fintech โ crypto infrastructure, production payroll systems โ I've seen how software can quietly move real money at scale, and I want that working for me. Alongside the building, I want to create consistent content that grows my connections in the industry and maybe helps someone else navigate their own entrepreneurial path a little more smoothly than I did.
There's no shortage of noise out there right now. Clickbait, AI-generated slop, dystopian headlines churned out by billionaire-owned media machines โ it's exhausting and it's only getting worse. My antidote is simple: keep my head down, stay focused on the code, and build things I actually want to use myself. If the ideas are good enough, I trust that other people will find value in them too.
Expect more from me here in 2026. More posts, more projects, more sharing what I'm learning along the way.
Happy 2026 ๐ค
